Chris Burge Ministries | Helping People Reach Their Divine Potential

Christopher Lance Burge, the Founder and President of Chris Burge Ministries, was born on January 25, 1967 on New York’s Long Island where he spent his childhood with his parents, Fred and Thelma Burge, and his two older brothers, Frederick Daryl and Gregory Dwaine.

He graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1985 and attended Brown University where, in 1989, he received his degree in Economics and African American Studies. While at Brown, Chris became co-captain of the basketball team and President of the Third World Business Society.

Chris was hired directly out of college as an associate bond salesperson at the Wall Street investment firm of Salomon Brothers (a position almost always reserved for MBA and JD graduates), and was placed in the firm's prestigious training program.

While there, Chris's commitment to excellence and integrity distinguished him among his colleagues, and he was promoted to Vice President at the age of 25.

During his ten years at Salomon Brothers, he was recognized and rewarded for his contributions with increasing levels of responsibility on some of the firm's largest accounts.

Despite a flourishing career, things began to change. Chris felt the Lord calling him out of the financial world and into the ministry of His people.

Chris had begun teaching a Bible Study in 1993 out of his apartment on the Upper West side of Manhattan, but he felt compelled to pursue God’s call even further. In May of 1999, he resigned from Salomon Brothers to enter Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, OK.

While at Rhema, Chris served with several ministries. He taught the 4-6 year-old Sunday School Class, coached the 6-8 year-old basketball team, worked with homeless teens, ministered to Death Row inmates at McAllister State Prison, and counseled men in various support groups.

During this time, Chris built the foundation for his current ministry: the utilizing of biblical principles to help people develop their character, and reach their divine potential.

In 2002, Chris graduated from Rhema and returned to New York to resume teaching Bible Study Classes and Workshops, where he delivers powerful messages on destiny, purpose, character development, and a host of life issues which men and women of God confront daily.

His teaching is inspired by the Holy Spirit, and has blessed the lives of the over 400 people who have attended his workshops and studies over the past year.

In 2004, Chris’s first book was published: His Rules: God's Practical Road Map for Becoming and Attracting Mr. or Mrs. Right, a Biblically inspired guide for any single with a sincere desire to find the mate God has for them.

Chris is currently working on several more manuscripts that demonstrate how the Holy Scriptures can be used to give birth to the person God designed you to be.

He is the proud husband of his wife Melanie. The couple welcomed a beautiful daughter on Christmas Day, Adonaiah Abigail Burge.
